Incredibly the trip had to be cut short. At Siete Lagunas last night the
group were subjected to repeated raids by groups of hungry foxes. Food was
stolen and tents were ripped. These incidents are the worst we have known in
the Sierra Nevada. With food supplies low and ripped tents the team decided
to cut the expedition short and returned via the east face of Mulhacen, the
Poqueira gorge and finally reached the village of Capileira for pickup. A
unsatisfactory end to an otherwise excellent trip.
