Dear Friends,

I received a call from Barbara today at 3PM. Someone has fallen ill along
the way and needs to be transported to a hospital on the South American
mainland. She is still on Antarctica, waiting at a supply station for her
plane to return to ferry her and a plane full of supplies to the
Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. She asked me to thank you all for your
kindness, cheer and warmth; they certainly come in handy when it's -23º and
overcast. She loves you all and can't wait to return and see everyone.
